Cricket gloves go through a lot of wear during matches and practice sessions. The palm area of batting gloves and the rubber grip of wicket-keeping gloves are especially exposed to constant friction and pressure. Over time, these parts can wear out, making the gloves uncomfortable and reducing grip.
Instead of replacing expensive gloves, repairing them can restore their performance and extend their lifespan. At Dugout Sports Hub, we specialize in professional cricket gloves repair using high-quality materials and a careful restoration process.
Placing the Repair Order
The process begins when a customer places an order for gloves repair through our website. Once the order is placed, the customer receives a confirmation message on WhatsApp from our team. In this message, we confirm the order and ask the customer to choose the preferred shipping option.
Customers can choose between two options:
• Doorstep pickup, where the parcel is collected directly from the customer’s location
• Self shipping, where the customer sends the gloves to our repair center
If the customer selects doorstep pickup, our courier partner collects the parcel from the customer’s address. Once the gloves reach our workshop, we send a confirmation message to inform the customer that the gloves have been received safely.
Inspection and Cleaning
Before starting the repair, our team carefully inspects the gloves to identify worn areas and damage. The worn leather from batting gloves or the damaged rubber sheet from wicket-keeping gloves is removed.
After removing the damaged material, the gloves are thoroughly cleaned. We use odour-control spray and vacuum cleaning to remove dust, sweat, and odor that may have built up inside the gloves during use.
This step ensures the gloves are hygienic and ready for restoration.
Restoring Batting Gloves
For batting gloves, the most common repair is replacing the worn palm leather. We apply A-grade sheep leather, the same high-quality material used in premium cricket gloves. This material provides excellent grip, comfort, and durability.
During the repair process, we can also make custom adjustments based on the player's requirements. For example, if needed, we can convert right-hand batting gloves (RHB) into left-hand batting gloves (LHB) or apply other recommended modifications to improve comfort and performance.
Repairing Wicket-Keeping Gloves
Wicket-keeping gloves require special attention because their grip relies on the rubber sheet inside the palm. In our repair process, we remove the worn rubber sheet and repair any damaged stitching or worn areas.
After cleaning and preparing the glove, we apply a new octopus sheet rubber palm, which is commonly used in professional wicket-keeping gloves. This restores the glove’s grip and helps keepers catch the ball more effectively.
Final Inspection and Delivery
Once the repair is completed, we send photos of the repaired gloves to the customer on WhatsApp. This allows the customer to review the repair work before the gloves are shipped back.
If the order is not prepaid, we confirm the preferred payment method at this stage. Customers can choose online payment or cash on delivery. After payment confirmation, the repaired gloves are packed carefully and shipped back to the customer.
Through this detailed process, Dugout Sports Hub ensures that cricket gloves are restored to high performance and comfort, helping players continue using their favorite gear for many more matches.
